Like the template for this website, or Instagram posts, Facebook uses the format of a square image for its users profile pictures.

Profile pic - the sum of one's identity for all the internet-using world to see. Square. 

My identity, in a square. And yet I'm constantly changing, evolving. Who I am today is not who I was last week, last year, last decade. One square can't capture twenty-seven years of living! But twenty-seven might start to. 

My entire life, each year, in a square.  As individuals each painting will be composed by referencing childhood photographs and deciding on one moment to be the detail that gets pulled forward and tells the story of that year, that point in my identity. 27 (as it stands) moments, details, facts that shaped me then and continue to define how I know myself now.
